Virtual Learning is the Preferred Mode of Learning Amid Coronavirus

2nd April 2020

The spread of the Coronavirus pandemic has become one of the greatest threats to the global economy. Organizations are grappling with this new menace and shifting their focus from classroom training to online delivery.

Organizations these days are resorting to Virtual instructor-led training (VILT) technology which is an effective way to impart training to employees dissolving boundaries and saving costs considerably. With pros, of course, cons also have to be considered like lack of interaction and engagement, questions raised on learner progress, ROI or the impact it creates at the end of the day.

So, before you plan you need to weigh every aspect before rolling out such initiatives that will help the change management for end-users and administrators.

If everything is in place then virtual learning can be just as effective as in-person learning and can lead to new, creative solutions for a more flexible workforce.

You need to check out the feature of the solution you plan to provide before you start like choosing a package that will meet your needs when it comes to imparting the training online like attendees can log in from any system. Therefore, you need to study your target audience thoroughly. Ensure everyone can access smoothly and all apps and presentations can also be shared.

You also need to keep in mind that your online training is user friendly and can keep your audience engaged and in order to do that you can include the following:-

Encourage your participants to use a chat window during sessions to foster better interaction and collaboration.

Polling can be another tool to keep your participants engaged helping them to gather data to help keep administrators informed.

After polling whiteboards can be used to copy the text from their given answers to be pasted on the whiteboard to continue the interaction.

Breakout rooms can be another effective tool to share and promote activity among all participants.

A user-friendly virtual learning program must focus on the balance between synchronous and asynchronous learning.

If you are keen to provide a holistic and supportive learning environment then do your research to bring the right technological solution for your trainees and guiding them towards the best self-directed learning.
